Biomechanics 101 – The Universal Law Of Levers, And How It Relates To Your Training

It’s important to understand biomechanics, because biomechanics will determine how much stress a muscle “should” be under – I say should because we can artificially increase the demand placed upon a muscle through our intent, and also because if our capacity to recruit a muscle is poor it won’t matter if the muscle is placed in a position in which it is “supposed” to be doing more work.

All things considered, biomechanics is still a very important aspect of training, and understanding it is really very simple. There are only two variables you need to know about when it comes to understanding the universal law of levers, and if you can grasp them, you will understand biomechanics – at least as it relates to exercise execution.
