From Biomch-W

Working on articles on Biomch-W is generally the same as editing the free encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Biomch-W uses MediaWiki, therefore the definitive authority is the MediaWiki help page for editing.

Basic Editing

Start. click on the "edit" tab of the article or the "edit" link at one of its edges.

Update. work on the article using the toolbar and/or the markup language.

Preview. click on "Show preview" to see how your changes will look before saving.

Save. click on "Save page" to apply your changes to the article.

Images

To use images in an article, follow the following steps:

Make sure the image is not copyrighted
Make sure the image has the right size and the file is not too large
Upload the image via the Upload file page (PNG, GIF, or JPG)
Use the image in an article:
- For simple insertion type [[Image:filename.ext]]
- For insertion with alternative text type [[Image:filename.ext|Your Alternative Text]]
- For floating insertion to the right side of the page with caption type [[Image:filename.ext|frame|Your Caption]]
- For floating insertion to the right side of the page without caption type [[Image:filename.ext|right|Your Alternative Text]]

Equations should be inserted using the same mechanism. A LaTeX equation editor may be added to Biomch-W in the future.
