Style

When contributing content for Biomch-W, use a writing style that is understandable by non-specialists.

Articles should be kept small enough to be read easily, one or two screens of text is a good size. Where possible, insert links to other Biomch-W articles as a mechanism to provide more detailed information. You may also insert a link to a page that does not exist yet, if you feel that such a page should be created.

When an article has grown too large, you might want to move some of the content to a separate page, and insert a link instead.

Literature citations

To maximize credibility, please cite the literature where appropriate. The preferred format is a brief but complete reference, and an external link to the abstract on a public server such as Pubmed. For example:

"In vivo tendon loading can be measured by fiber optic sensors, but these can be sensitive to skin movement ( Erdemir et al, J Biomech 36: 449-455, 2003). A potentially useful technique is to quantify tendon loading by measuring the velocity of ultrasound transmision (Pourcelot et al, J Biomech 38: 2124-2129, 2005)."
